| Ethical Practice: The Way Counseling Should Be July 18th, 2008 6 CEU's Cost: $89.00 Location: The United Way building 24 Springer Drive Bangor, Maine 04401 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Taught by Allen Drucker, M.Ed, LCPC This six-hour training will comply with new ethical training requirements to be instituted in 2010. It will cover such issues as dual relationships, the problem of abandonment, relationships with clients, bartering and the dichotomy between HIPAA and CFR 42. Participants will study examples of ethical boundary violations with an eye toward identifying events during the time-line where problems could have been avoided. Adaptations of actual events will be used with individuals involved carefully de-identified. Professional Ethics, although clear in many respects, at times conflicts with applicable law and agency policies. Ways of ensuring client confidentiality, while simultaneously protecting the counselor, will be discussed. Goals At the end of this workshop, participants will:
