Elizabeth Kubik, PhD.

Dr. Elizabeth Kubik is a clinical psychologist with a private psychology practice in Portland.
Dr. Kubik received her B.A. from Colby College in 1990 and her doctoral degree in clinical
psychology from the University of Maine in 2002.  Her graduate research and clinical work
focused extensively on cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) for anxiety.  She completed
her pre-doctoral fellowship year at the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology (the
Boston Medical Center and the Boston VAMC) in 2002, where she received training in the
newer generation of mindfully-oriented CBT therapies, including Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT).  Upon returning to Maine in 2002, Dr. Kubik completed a post-
doctoral residency at Kennebec Valley Mental Health Center in Augusta, with a focus on
providing training and consultation to staff regarding CBT and ACT.  Since completing her
graduate and postgraduate training, she has continued her training in ACT through
participation in conferences and consultation groups.  In her practice, Dr. Kubik
specializes in anxiety and stress management, post-partum depression, and women’s
wellness/health psychology.
