All three trainings for $275.00 Taught by Stephen Andrew, LCSW, LADC, CCS About Motivational Interviewing: The Basics: This two-day training will discuss an effective approach in the treatment of challenging clients, and provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention -- when to use, when not to use motivational interviewing. Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, evidence-based, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. During this two-day workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing, explore ways of integrating Motivational Interviewing theories into other treatment approaches, and practice motivational interviewing on "challenging" clients through role playing and discussion. About Motivational Interviewing: Advancing the Practice: This one-day training , which has a prerequisite of at least four hours of Motivational-Interviewing training, will discuss further the new effective approach in the treatment of substance abusers, dual diagnosis, and will provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention. During this one-day workshop, participants will discuss a brief review and practice of Motivational Interviewing spirit and some basic skills, and an overview of what's important. Participants will learn about change talk and methods of eliciting. Also learn how Motivational Interviewing overlaps with other therapeutic methods. About The Power of Groups Using Motivational Interviewing: Group work provides several effective important steps that help break the isolation often experienced by the client. This training will provide information on how to use groups as a treatment strategy. We will address why using motivational interviewing in a therapeutic support group format is extremely effective. We will explore issues of interpersonal interaction in the group process, group norms, empathy, and how to use the group format to lower resistance. To sign up: |
