This one-day training , which has a prerequisite of at least four hours of
Motivational-Interviewing training, will discuss further the new effective
approach in the treatment of substance abusers, dual diagnosis, and will
provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating
these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention. During this
one-day workshop, participants will discuss a brief review and practice of
Motivational Interviewing spirit and some basic skills, and an overview of
what's important. Participants will learn about change talk and methods of
eliciting. Also learn how Motivational Interviewing overlaps with other
therapeutic methods.

Programs cancelled by HETI due to weather conditions, trainer availability or lack of
participants will be rescheduled or fully refunded. Cancellations received 7
business days in advance will receive full refund. There will be a $25 fee for
cancellations received 6 business days or less before a program. Fees will not be
refunded for "no shows" or cancellations received on the day of the program.
