Stephen R. Andrew, LCSW, LADC, CCS, CGP, Health Education & Training
Institute, 25 Middle Street, Portland Maine 04101 Consultant/Trainer maintains
a recovery-focused private practice, where he facilitates a variety of
adolescent, co-ed, men and couple support groups. He also provides
supervision/coaching and support to addiction and health-care providers and
facilitates training for Resident Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Maine
Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry. He is the Chief Energizing Officer of
Health Education & Training Institute and the creator of the SpiritWind
CD/Tape Series for personal and professional growth. Stephen has recently
co-authored a book “Men’s Healing, Toolbox for LIFE”.  He is the “Visionary” of
InnerEdge, an alternative mental health clinic that experiments with the idea
that compassion is the central guiding principle of therapeutic care in working
with people. Stephen is a co-founder of the Men's Resource Center of
Southern Maine. Stephen has served as a social worker at a small college
campus. He is a former Substance Abuse Coordinator for a public school
system, former Executive Director of an adolescent substance abuse
prevention and treatment agency. He is a member of the International
Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). He presents workshops,
coaching and trainings internationally for social service agencies, health-care
providers, substance abuse counselors and other groups on motivational
interviewing, addiction, co-occurring disorders, counseling theory,
“challenging” adolescents, and ethics for care professionals, men’s work and
the power of group work.
