Greetings Fellow MI Trainers, For the third year in a row, we will be offering an Advanced Practice of Training in Motivational Interviewing. We are looking for four to six trainers who would like to sharpen their MI training skills by leading our Valentine’s Week workshops ‘MI: The Basics” on February 14 & 15, 2012, or ‘MI: Advancing the Practice’ on February 16, 2012 under the guidance of Stephen Andrew and John Brelsford. This will allow you significant training experience and feedback. “Teaching is the highest form of understanding.” – Aristotle. To cap off HETI’s Valentine’s Week Extravaganza, following his “Teaching MI in Agencies, Institutions & Schools” workshop, Stephen will be leading his third annual forum to bring together new and old graduates on Friday, February 17, 2012. This will be a chance for getting together to reflect on our experiences with bringing MI to a larger audience, to learn a little more about MI, and to discuss our future efforts at increasing the use of MI in our various communities. We will be holding the event at our usual training space above Micucci’s on Middle Street in Portland. Participants will be asked to contribute a donation of between $35 and $75, depending on what you can afford to help cover the expenses of the forum. Please let us know if you can join with us, and we look forward to sharing this time with as many of our fellow travelers on the MI path as possible.
