Motivational Interviewing: Advancing the Practice
Further exploration and practice of the evidence-based clinical method of Motivational Interviewing, an effective approach in the care of challenging clients, providing participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches. Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, evidence-based, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. After orientation to the underlying spirit, structure, and principles of Motivational Interviewing, practical exercises will help participants strengthen empathy skills, recognize and elicit change talk, and roll with discord.
This training will consist of three two-and-a-half-hour sessions.
Sara was fabulous! She is a great presenter - clear, articulate, thoughtful....she obviously knows MI very well and is very comfortable teaching the concepts. She made everyone feel comfortable, heard and at ease. I would highly recommend the training and Sara to anyone!
I came in knowing very little of MI and came out with a wealth of information and some great practice time
This course has been my favorite seminar to date. So informative. Such a great counseling tool.
