Bob Jope LMHC, MINT Certified Trainer

Bob is a Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) Certified Trainer, and
has been a member of MINT since 2010. He teaches Motivational Interviewing (MI)
at Salve Regina University and the University of Massachusetts; he is also a
consultant with the Addiction Technology Transfer Center at UMass Chan School of
Public Health. Bob is the lead trainer for Jope Consulting Services, has taught MI at
agencies all over New England, and consults internationally on teaching and coding
MI. He currently serves as Vice President of the board of directors of Motivational
Interviewing in Leadership and Organizations (MILO). Bob has been trained and
certified as an MI coder by Terri Moyers and Denise Ernst, co-authors of the
Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity Code, has developed and taught
numerous program-specific MI training applications, and has trained thousands of
people in various levels of Motivational Interviewing. Holding a master’s degree in clinical psychology, Bob has worked in the mental health, child welfare, and substance abuse fields for the past thirty years. He has a passion for learning about and promulgating evidence-based, compassionate practices in the helping professions.
